Before he went into the Mountain View schism in 2017, Sbn. Ilarion reminded us:
Please note the prophecy of the total confusion of the bishops and other clergy, so that now it is necessary for the Faithful to travel hundreds of miles to find an Orthodox pastor to save one's soul. These things should not overly dismay us, as they were prophesied a century and more in advance, by the Spirit of God. "For those that love God, all things work together unto good."(Rom:8:28) Suffering these things and persevering we will save our souls.
